Three projects of scientists of the Medical University of Gdańsk have received funding from the National Science Center in the 14th OPUS 14 competition.
The laureates include the scientists from the molecular enzyme department at the inter-university faculty of biotechnology: Dr Rafał Sądej with the project “The role of FGFR2 in the regulation of autophagy in breast cancer – prognostic significance” and Dr Patrycja Koszałka for the project “The role of CD73 (ecto-5′-nucleotidazay) in the processes of promotion and progression of breast cancer and its evaluation as a therapeutic target”.
The project “Study of reproductive potential of oocytes and embryos with the use of proteomic analysis of alveolar and culture fluid” by Prof. Krzysztof Łukaszuk from the obstetrics and gynecology nursing department of the health sciences also was financed.
Over PLN 4.2 million will allow the employment of young scientists in post-doc positions and the payment of scholarships for students and PhD students.
