09.08.2021

The University Center of Maritime and Tropical Medicine of the Medical University of Gdańsk are implementing activities related to the prevention and counteraction of COVID-19. They will build a clinical building in the Center with a new admission room, three isolation rooms, registration and a special room for swabs from people suspected of being infected.

The total area of the building is 540 square meters. Access to the admission room will be possible only through a special lock. There is a connector on the ground floor, which will communicate patients with positive test results directly to the admission room and the elevator located in the existing building.

The total cost of the project is almost PLN 6 million, with more than half allocated under the Regional Operational Program of the Pomeranian Voivodeship. The remaining amount was paid from the Centre’s own resources. Additional funds were allocated by the Board of the Pomeranian Voivodeship to help Pomerania’s hospitals fight the pandemic.
