The Medical University of Silesia (SUM) was ranked on the eleventh place in Poland according to the Center for World University Rankings (CWUR), measuring the quality of education and training of students, as well as the prestige and quality of research conducted by researchers.

In the latest ranking SUM took 11th place in Poland (out of 37 classified Polish universities) and 933 place of 2,000 universities from all over the world classified in this ranking. In the previous ranking only 10 Polish universities were classified, including the SUM.

The indicators determining the position in the ranking include: quality of education, measured by the number of university graduates who have won the most important international awards, distinctions and medals in relation to the size of the university and employment of graduates, measured by the number of university graduates who got the highest positions in leading global companies in relation to the size of the university.
