The company Syntplant sp.z o.o., the Medical University of Wrocław and the Moratex Institute of Safety Technology from Lodz will implement the project “Development of individualized biodegradable implants for bone reconstruction procedures”, financed by the National Center for Research and Development in the amount of over PLN 6.8 million.
The aim of the project is to develop technology and clinical validation of personalized resorbable anatomical spatial structures that will be designed for medical bone implants for use in cranial and craniofacial vaults, also for the youngest patients.
The proposed solution is the introduction of implants adapted to anatomical features, made of biodegradable and resorbable polylactide polymer or its derivatives. This will allow to repair the anatomical structure of the bone during surgery and restore the anatomically correct bone structure with parallel atrophy of the implant.
