The Medical University of Wrocław (UMW) was ranked first among Polish medical universities in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings (THE WUR) 2024. Only 39 universities from Poland were included in this ranking. In the general part of the ranking, UMW was ranked between 601 and 800.

“Number one among medical universities and top three in Poland in the overall ranking – such a result is gratifying. We are a university recognised in the world, high positions in important lists prove that we are going in the right direction. The latest ranking of THE WUR shows that UMW has the best education in Poland”, says the rector, Professor Piotr Ponikowski, quoted on the university’s website.

THE WUR ranking assesses universities in terms of teaching, research, knowledge transfer and international perspectives, based on 18 indicators in five categories: teaching, research environment, research quality, international perspectives and industry.
