The institutes belonging to the Łukasiewicz Research Network are joining forces to compete more effectively on the R&D market. This month, the Warsaw Institute of Applied Optics merged with the Tele and Radio Technical Institute also based in Warsaw, and further mergers will take place in the near future.
On January 1, 2020, the COBRO Packaging Research Institute in Warsaw will merge with the Institute of Biopolymers and Chemical Fibers in Łódź. In Warsaw, April 1, 2020 the Pharmaceutical Institute and the Institute of Biotechnology and Antibiotics will merge with the Institute of Industrial Chemistry.
– It is a natural process and a noticeable international trend. Such joined institutes have greater commercialization potential, are stronger in terms of organization and have greater capabilities in providing value within large consortia. Building strong organizations on the R&D market leads to more effective development and facilitates doing business with business – said Piotr Dardziński, president of the Łukasiewicz Research Network.
