Ministry of Education and Science announced on Twitter that the Minister of Education and Science, Przemysław Czarnek, took part in a meeting with Poland’s youngest professor Mateusz Hołda and Professor Jerzy Waloch from Jagiellonian University.
The topic of the conversation was the challenges faced by young scientists. Minister Czarnek referred in this context to the Copernican Academy, which is intended to help researchers in their development.
According to the act on the Copernican Academy, its aim is to increase the competitiveness and recognition of Polish science in the world. It will implement a programme including the funding of scientific research, including the awarding of Copernican scholarships and Nicolaus Copernicus grants.
Mateusz Hołda from the Faculty of Medicine of the Jagiellonian University’s Collegium Medicum in Krakow became the first Polish scientist to be awarded the title of titular professor before the age of 30. By an order of President Andrzej Duda, he was awarded the title of professor of medical and health sciences in the discipline of medical sciences.
