On May 5, 2020, Minister of Science and Higher Education Wojciech Murdzek inaugurated the work of the State Commission for the Certification of Proficiency in Polish as a Foreign Language in the 2020-2024 term.
Interest in the Polish language is growing and more and more foreigners are seeking confirmation of their skills of our native language – emphasized Minister Murdzek.
In addition to the minister and members of the Commission, the conference was attended by representatives of the National Agency for Academic Exchange. Through the online meeting, the Commission elected its new chairman – Prof. Waldemar Martyniuk and the secretary of the Commission – Prof. Iwona Janowska.
The Commission is a body that cares for the proper functioning of the system for certifying knowledge of Polish as a foreign language. Its tasks include: giving opinions on applications for authorization to organize exams, periodic analysis of the functioning of the system confirming the knowledge of Polish as a foreign language and presenting recommendations to the Minister of Science and Higher Education in this respect.
