Michał Pieczka and Konrad Zaborski from the Faculty of Architecture of the Wrocław University of Technology have been awarded in the competition of the Ministry of Development for the best diploma theses.
In the category of master’s theses, the award was granted to Michał Pieczka (currently PhD student at the faculty of architecture) for the work “Bridge for Wrocław – form, construction, function”. The author designed the bridge connecting the Wrocław Kępa Mieszczańska and the Nadodrze district. Its construction would be based on steel frames forming a skeleton to be filled with various functions – this would create spaces that could change their purpose, depending on the needs.
In the category of engineering works, Konrad Zaborski was awarded for the project “Hotel as a temporary place of residence”. The author decided to propose a solution that will utilize free spaces in city centers and will be a modern modular residential structure that can be duplicated and adapted to the various conditions.
