The Ministry of Digitization will allocate PLN 120 million for the “Internet for everyone” project. Hotspots – points with free WiFi will appear in parks, squares, stations, cultural centers and libraries. The initiative is addressed to rural and urban-rural communes from all over Poland.
Municipalities can apply for funding for the construction of public hotspots in their area. The maximum amount of individual funding is PLN 64 368. The subsidy will cover the costs of installing hotspots, but maintaining the infrastructure and capacity will be the task of municipalities. Thanks to the competition, each of them will be equipped with at least 10 points with WiFi at a speed of 30 Mb / s.
Thanks to this initiative, 19,000 new Internet points with free WiFi will appear in Poland. The call for proposals in the competition, organized jointly with the Digital Poland Design Center, will start on September 7. The call will be conducted continuously until the end of June 2020.
