In connection with the reported violations of the principle of freedom of expression at universities, the Ministry of Science decided to propose solutions that would strengthen academic freedom.

Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Science and Higher Education Jarosław Gowin announced amendments to the Constitution for Science, the aim of which will be to guarantee freedom of education, expression of views and conducting scientific activities to all members of the university community as well as employees of the system of higher education and science.

– From the beginning of work on the Constitution for Science, I emphasized that this act should broaden the autonomy of the university and it happened. More freedom, however, has often been used to limit the internal freedom of the university – said Deputy Prime Minister Gowin.

He emphasized that “universities must be a space in which different views, different views and methodologies clash freely, of course, assuming the scientific nature of those proclaimed positions, being a result of scientific research,” – stated the Minister of Science.
