At the end of 2022, more than 1.2 million students were being educated in Polish universities. This is 0.4 % more than a year earlier. The most popular universities are those in Warsaw, Krakow and Poznań, reports the Polish Economic Institute.
The largest number of students study management and administration (over 168 thousand). The second place is occupied by psychology (over 62 thousand students), and the third by nursing and midwifery (over 54 thousand). The number of students in law faculties exceeds 46 thousand, and 42 thousand in medical studies.
In terms of the number of applicants per place, Korean studies and Oriental studies-Korean studies were the most popular in the 2022/2023 academic year. Approximately 25 students applied for one place.
The most popular city among students is Warsaw. More than 250,000 people chose to study in the capital. Twice as many studied in Kraków (128,000), followed by Poznań (114,000) and Wrocław (106,000).
