5753 people visited the Planetarium of the University of Bialystok (UwB) during the first six months of its operation. Visitors attended 253 screenings, and the most popular film was ‘On the Wings of Dreams’. 

The highest number of space and astronomy enthusiasts attended in October (1,366 people) and November (1,232 people).

Visitors attended a total of 253 screenings, and the most popular film was ‘On the Wings of Dreams’ (117 screenings). The film ‘The Universe and the Rest’ was also quite popular (66 screenings).

“This is very encouraging data, showing that such a facility and such activities are needed. The nearest planetariums are located in Warsaw and Olsztyn. The planetarium at the University of Białystok is small – we can only invite 32 people at a time. But it is a modern facility, both in terms of the projection system and sound system. Both 2D and 3D educational films can be viewed in our Planetarium”, says Dorota Sawicka, head of the UwB Centre for the Popularisation of Science.
