The Museum of Olympism has been opened at the Faculty of Physical Culture and Health of the University of Szczecin. It is the only such place in Poland and one of the few in Europe.

The mission of the museum is to take care of cultural heritage, including the Olympic legacy. The museum displays memorabilia, including medals, medals, photographs, costumes and gadgets donated to the university by its students or alumni – participants of the Olympic Games.

“This exhibition is extraordinary because it shows, especially to young people, that if you live in Szczecin and the West Pomeranian Province, you can have a career in sport and achieve the highest honours, just as the athletes and coaches of today have done and are doing. I would also like to emphasise that the Museum of Olympism is unique, as it is the only university museum in Poland presenting sports achievements”, said Professor Waldemar Tarczyński, rector of the Szczecin university, during the opening ceremony.
