The National Agency for Academic Exchange (NAWA) has awarded scholarships under the Ignacy Łukasiewicz Program.
This year, a record number of 2,344 applications were submitted in the call, which means nearly a 5-fold increase comparing to the previous year.
Most applications came from Nigeria – 579, Pakistan – 530 and Ethiopia – 144. Only 136 applications were accepted for funding.
Candidates for MA studies at Polish universities chose most often agricultural, biological and IT faculties, as well as Construction and Electronic engineering.
The Ignacy Łukasiewicz Scholarship program has been implemented as part of Polish development aid, and is addressed to foreigners from developing countries. The aim of the Program is to support socio-economic development by increasing the level of education of citizens of developing countries.
