A platform for remote specialist medical consultations has been used for the first time at the Heart Institute of the University Clinical Hospital in Wrocław. This state-of-the-art solution will allow access to the best experts for all patients, regardless of where they live.

The platform’s premiere was attended by the heads of the ministries of health and digitisation – as both ministries are involved in the implementation of the system. According to Health Minister Adam Niedzielski, the system will become a standard in Poland – initially in cardiology, then in oncology and eventually in other fields. 

During the meeting, the ministers handed over a symbolic cheque for PLN 10,145,482 to the University Clinical Hospital. This is funding for the retrofitting and modernisation of the treatment facility to accommodate heart transplantation.
