Nine scientists from five countries USA, UK, Switzerland, Israel and Germany will return to Poland. The laureates represent mainly biological, chemical and physical sciences, as well as mechanical engineering, economics and philosophy. They will receive funding from the National Agency for Academic Exchange (NAWA) to implement their projects under the Polish Returns programme.
“Once again, we prove that NAWA programmes open the door for scholars to achieve scientific independence by building their own research teams. For Polish universities and institutes, the possibility of employing returning scientists is an opportunity to develop new specialisations and strengthen international cooperation”, says NAWA Director General Dr Dawid Kostecki.
The centres employing returning researchers include Wrocław University of Science and Technology, Warsaw University of Technology, University of Gdańsk, University of Warsaw, International Institute of Molecular and Cell Biology in Warsaw, International Institute of Molecular Mechanisms and Machines of the Polish Academy of Sciences, Institute of Fundamental Technological Problems of the Polish Academy of Sciences and Space Research Centre of the Polish Academy of Sciences.
