IDEAS NCBR and the Railway Security Guard (SOK) have signed a cooperation agreement. It will enable the implementation of the AI Shield pilot programme. The system, which uses artificial intelligence, will determining the optimal paths for SOK patrols. The solution will increase passenger safety and is also likely to reduce train delays.
AI Shield is a software developed by a team of researchers from IDEAS NCBR, which works on the basis of artificial intelligence algorithms. The basis for the joint work will be data and analyses prepared and made available by the Railway Guard.
The aim of the IDEAS NCBR researchers is to optimise the use of the SOK’s resources within the framework of the security measures already available – including motorised, foot and mixed patrols. In addition to supporting prevention activities, the AI Shield system is expected to increase the detection of offenders and crimes on the railway.
