On August 26-27, the AGH University of Science and Technology in Krakow held a meeting of the Presidium and Plenary Assembly of the Conference of Rectors of Academic Schools in Poland (KRASP), during which a group of university chancellors from all over the country selected online new authorities.
The meeting of the KRASP Plenary Assembly closed the current 2016-2020 term, chaired by Prof. Jan Szmidt, rector of the Warsaw University of Technology. During the two-day session, representatives of university authorities discussed the current problems of higher education and science in Poland, as well as the functioning of universities in the uncertain time of the COVID-19 pandemic in the context of international cooperation or organization of education in the new academic year.
The new KRASP authorities were elected during the meeting. Prof. Arkadiusz Mężyk, rector of the Silesian University of Technology in Gliwice has become the chairman. His deputies are Prof. Jacek Popiel, rector-elect of the Jagiellonian University and Prof. Michał Zasada, rector-elect of the Warsaw University of Life Sciences.
