The Council of Scientific Societies at the Presidium of the Polish Academy of Sciences has announced that it intends to prepare a new Dictionary of Polish Scientific Societies, based on the edition of the Dictionary published in 2004.

“The passage of time and changes taking place in the broadly understood environment of Polish scientific societies make it advisable to create a new version of the dictionary, showing the scientific and organisational potential of the societies and documenting their importance for Polish science”, emphasises the Council of Scientific Societies.

This task was undertaken by a team selected by the Council of Scientific Societies, based on the work already carried out by the Council’s secretary Tadeusz Majsterkiewicz and the activities of the Institute of Interdisciplinary Historical Research of the University of Kalisz.
