On 18 November 2023, Academic Heritage Day, the Wyspiański Pavilion in Krakow will host an event combining entertainment, knowledge, and board games. “Gaudeamus! Build a Medieval University”, is a board game about the Jagiellonian University, promoting Krakow and the academic community. 

The game had its premiere in 2021. Due to the huge interest, the print run of the game was sold out very quickly. The game will go on sale again this December.

“Gaudeamus! Build a medieval university” is not only a board game, but also a story about Krakow, prominent scholars from the turn of the 15th and 16th centuries, customs of the medieval academic community and numerous interesting facts about the Krakow university. 

Participants will have the opportunity to impersonate one of the historical characters and then build the oldest Polish university. The first player to create all the faculties: liberal arts, medicine, law and theology – wins.
