Researchers at the University of Life Sciences in Poznan (UPP) are participants in EUFLYNET COST Action CA22117, an initiative bringing together European scientists and experts in migratory bird conservation.
European breeding birds, migrating across the continent and wintering in Africa, are an important part of biodiversity, but many are facing severe population declines. Therefore, a new scientific initiative has been launched to understand their population dynamics and develop effective conservation actions.
EUFLYNET COST Action, a scientific network supporting European-scale research, aims to integrate existing research programmes and coordinate new ones to better understand the factors affecting migratory bird populations. The research will encompass a variety of disciplines such as ecology, remote sensing, geographic modelling and the development of statistical methods to predict how climate and habitat changes affect these populations.
