The Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń (UMK) will continue to cooperate with Tianjin Normal University (TNU). The agreement was signed by the rector of the Nicolaus Copernicus University, Prof. Andrzej Tretyn during his stay in Tianjin at the celebration of the 60th anniversary of the Chinese university.
In Tianjin, the rectors discussed the cooperation of the local Department of History and Art with the Faculty of Historical Sciences of the Nicolaus Copernicus University. Initial arrangements involved the exchange of academic staff and the admission of Chinese history students for semester courses in English. The Chinese side also expressed interest in East and Central European Studies conducted by the Faculty of Philology at the Nicolaus Copernicus University.
During the visit, an annex to the partnership agreement was also signed, enabling 10 students of Tianjin Polish Philology from October 2018 to take up studies in the field of Polish philology as a foreign language, offered by the Faculty of Philology.
