The Institute of Psychology at the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń is inviting participants to a new series of popular science lectures “Tuesdays with psychology”. Meetings will be held every two weeks at the Center for Innovative Education. The first such Tuesday is scheduled for February 11.
The series will be inaugurated by a lecture by Dr Małgorzata Gut from the Institute of Psychology, entitled “Computer games, movement and rhythm in mathematical education and dyscalculia therapy”.
The topics of subsequent lectures include “Can girls play with Barbie? The factors that shape the body image in children”, “Who does not believe in climate change and why?”, “Psychology towards social divisions: how to glue what cannot be glued?”, “Care, justice and maybe something else … How do you know what is good and what is bad?”, “Visual metaphors in moving pictures. Psychological aspects of poetic cinema on the example of the works of Krzysztof Kieślowski” and “Between instinct and conscious actions. Universal mechanisms of animal behavior.”
