The Ministry of Science and Higher Education awarded the University of Nicolaus Copernicus in Torun with 25 million PLN to fund the clinical and teaching facilities of the Veterinary Center. A building with an area of 5,000 sq m will be erected at the Bydgoszcz Road, on the plot transferred to the University by the Municipality of Toruń.
The basement will include an experimental part, on the ground floor there will be a clinical part for large animals with a small animal clinic on the first floor, and diagnostic laboratories on the second floor. The building will also include classrooms.
The Center’s director, Prof. Jędrzej Jaśkowski emphasizes that it will be one of the best-equipped clinical facilities of veterinary medicine in Poland. – There will be a positron emission tomography for animals, magnetic resonance, X-ray, several ultrasound scanners and a lot of other equipment at the highest world level – says Prof. Jaśkowski.
