Nicolaus Copernicus University in Torun has won the Elsevier Publishing’s Research Impact Leaders Awards for having the greatest impact on research in the humanities in 2023.
The Elsevier publisher’s awards are given to institutions that have distinguished themselves by the high quality of their research and the degree of internationalisation. The degree of implementation of planned strategies of excellence at national and institutional level is also taken into account.
Awards were given in six main categories: agricultural sciences, engineering and technology, humanities, medical sciences, life sciences and social sciences, with three institutions competing in each category. Winners were selected based on an algorithm that considers citation rate (30 %), international collaborations (20 %), publications in Top 10 journals (25 %) and growth in number of publications (15 %) and authors (10 %).
