New year brought new world university rankings that confirmed the position of the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń (UMK) in Poland and its stable international reputation.
In the latest Transparent Ranking, based on the results of 10 top and most-cited researchers from the university according to the Google Scholar database, UMK took 849th place in the world and turned out to be the best Polish university.
In the QS Emerging Europe and Central Asia ranking, UMK is in 88th place (107th a year ago) remaining the 13th university in Poland. This is one of the three most prestigious ratings, which takes into account the opinions of lecturers and employers, quotations of their publications and percentage of lecturers and foreign students.
In the January Webometrics ranking, which is based on a composite indicator and examines the presence of academic and research institutions on the Internet, UMK was ranked 762th, maintaining the 7th position in Poland.
