Facts and myths about dietary supplements. Tips on reading food labels. Experiments carried out under the supervision of scientists. All those topics will be presented to children and young people during classes prepared by the Institute of Animal Reproduction and Food Research of the Polish Academy of Sciences (PAN) in Olsztyn.
‘Trust your food’ workshops will take place on Saturday, 15, 22 and 29 February. Students from Warmian-Masurian schools can take part in them. They will create smart food packaging and learn about food allergens. They will learn how to correctly interpret labels on food products.
Under the supervision of scientists and using modern research equipment, they will conduct various experiments. They will independently perform a milk quality assessment test, examine the antioxidant properties of natural preservatives and check which fat acids are present in commonly available edible oils.
In a special workshop, students will also be able to check their smell skills.
