Marta Zawadzka and Dawid Dąbrowski, students of doctoral studies at the Faculty of Environmental Management and Agriculture of the University of Warmia and Mazury (UWM) will participate in an international project researching the biodiversity of aquatic insects.
The EuroPonds project brings together about 80 young scientists from all over Europe and is run by the European Federation of Freshwater Sciences (EFFS) and the EFFS Societies. Its purpose is to answer the question about the ecological role of aquatic insects and how the trophic state of ponds affects the biodiversity of newly appearing insects.
The project will last a year. In addition to research, participants will also participate in a scientific conference in Ireland, workshops in Austria and prepare a summary publication.
