During the Days of the Warsaw University of Life Sciences (SGGW), a demonstration vineyard was opened on the university’s campus. This is the first part of a project aimed at popularising the cultivation of vine varieties in the conditions of central Poland.
There has been a marked increase in interest in vine cultivation in Poland in recent years. Vineyards are being established and developed not only in the provinces which are commonly associated with this type of cultivation, i.e. the provinces of southern Poland, but more and more often in the regions of central or northern Poland.
In addition to the demonstration vineyard, a production vineyard will also be established at SGGW. Both the demonstration and production vineyards will be used for scientific research and teaching, including student internships. They will also be facilities promoting the cultivation of this noble plant, as well as an attraction for visitors to the SGGW campus.
