Opole University of Technology to support municipalities in the fight for clean air

Opole University of Technology and local governments of the Opolskie Voivodeship will implement the project “Implementation of an air quality management system in the Opolskie Voivodeship”. The goal is to increase the capacity and improve the quality of public administration at all levels in relation to the corrective actions specified in the air protection plan (POP).

The partners assumed to realize activities including preparation and implementation of a uniform information system supporting the implementation of POPs into practice of self-governments of the Opolskie Voivodeship at all its levels (commune, poviat, voivodeship), as well as increasing public awareness in the field of air quality.

The university will prepare and organize post-graduate studies for municipal air protection coordinators. Thanks to this, qualified advisors will start working in all communes to help, for example, in choosing an ecological heat source. They will also advise on how to obtain a subsidy to replace the furnace and what offer to propose.
