The Ministry of Science and Higher Education has granted a total of over PLN 326 million of financial support to 30 academic universities for the implementation of scientific research important for the region within the “Regional Initiative of Excellence” program. 12 million PLN of this amount will be received by the University of Warmia and Mazury (UWM) in Olsztyn.
The university has submitted the project “Innovative high-quality food for the health of society and sustainable development – an integrated program for the development of scientific research and innovation in the field of agricultural and veterinary sciences at the University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn”. Support will be provided for: agronomy, fishing , food and nutrition technology, zootechnics and veterinary science.
The UWM project is part of the “Strategy for socio-economic development of the Warmian-Masurian Voivodship by 2025”, which emphasizes the development of an economy based on three smart specializations: water economy, wood and furniture, and high-quality food.
