The jury of the 18th competition for the best scientific work on intellectual property, organized by the Patent Office of the Republic of Poland, selected the winners in the following categories: postdoctoral, doctoral, master’s and bachelor’s theses.
Awards funded by the Minister of Education and Science were granted to:
Małgorzata Niklewicz-Pijaczyńska (University of Białystok) for the thesis “The patent system in knowledge management. The economics of codified technical knowledge” and Justyna Ożegalska-Trybalska (Jagiellonian University) for the work “Limitations of patent protection and patent infringement” in the habilitation thesis category.
In the category of doctoral dissertation, the award was achieved by Mateusz Żuk (University of Warsaw) for his thesis “The dependence of trademark protection on its distinctive ability in European Union law”.
In the master’s thesis category, the prize was gained by Michał Nita (University of Warsaw) for his thesis “Protection of a reputable trademark in Chinese and Polish law – comparative analysis” and Jakub Wyczik (University of Silesia) for the thesis “Virtual goods – civil law aspects”.
In the bachelor’s thesis category, Anna Cielecka, Jagiellonian University received the prize for the work “The actual use of the European Union trademark – territorial aspect”.
