The Patent Office of the Republic of Poland has published an annual report with data on innovative activity at Polish universities. For the third time Lublin University of Technology headed the list of Polish universities in terms of the number of applications for inventions and utility patterns.
In 2019, scientists from Lublin made 135 applications. The following places were taken by: Wrocław University of Technology (106) and Silesian University of Technology (103). Lublin University also proved to be unrivaled in terms of patents and protection rights obtained (126).
The report of the Polish Patent Office also shows the activity of innovators over the past six years. During this period, the Wrocław University of Science and Technology was the most active, with employees obtaining 929 patents and protection rights. Next position was taken by the AGH University of Science and Technology in Krakow (707) and the West Pomeranian University of Technology in Szczecin (617).
