Geopolitics as BA and MA studies are planned to be launched by the Institute of Geography of the Pedagogical University (UP) in Krakow from October.

Dr Wioletta Kilar, director of the Institute of Geography of the UP, emphasizes, that the dominant discipline in geopolitics will be socio-economic geography and spatial management. In the first semester, students will gain basic knowledge on both sciences, and in the following semesters, they will learn about specific geopolitical issues – such as for example, contemporary political problems and ideologies, the organization of the Polish state, geography of natural resources, military geography, astropolitics, cyberthreats.

Geopolitics graduates will be able to work in public administration offices (mainly in positions related to security policy), as well as in institutions and companies conducting geopolitical research and preparing expert opinions and studies on security policy and strategic goals of the state.
