Marta Śliwiak, a PhD student at the University of Humanities and Life Sciences Jan Długosz in Częstochowa, received a scholarship from the Minister of Culture, National Heritage and Sports. The scholarship covers the costs of implementation of the MOKULITO-flat printing project from a wooden matrix.
The project assumes individual creative development in the field of alternative printing techniques in artistic graphics in order to develop an instruction set/handbook and to broaden the knowledge of the mokulito flat printing technique. The aim is to disseminate it as an alternative technique of flat printing and to develop an instruction set/handbook.
The mokulito technique comes from Japan and is now a niche solution. It uses a matrix of wooden plywood, which is easily accessible and light. It is an interesting alternative to the traditional stone matrix which is expensive, heavy and difficult to access. Potentially, this technique offers the possibility of printing from flat and relief printing.
