The editors of “Magazyn Literacki KSIĄŻKI” awarded the Magellan Awards for the best tourist publications. Among the winners there was “And what that about Sweden” by Natalia Kołaczek, PhD student at the Faculty of Modern Languages at the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań.
In the “travel book” category, 3 publications were awarded ex aequo: “And what that about Sweden” by Natalia Kołaczek, “Zanzibar – a treasure island. Tales from the Swahili world” by Beata Lewandowska-Kaftan and “Under the dark skin of the Philippines” by Tomasz Owsian.
The idea of the competition is to honor the publishers who excel in their care for tourist quality, awakening the passion of traveling and bringing up new generations of globetrotters. This year 76 titles were qualified for the competition. They were awarded 14 main prizes, 21 awards and a special prize.
Natalia Kołaczek is a PhD student at the Scandinavian Department, a translator of the Swedish language. He also runs the Szwecjoblog website.
