A PhD student at the University of Szczecin, Monika Zięciak became a scholarship holder of the Polish-American Freedom Foundation in the academic year 2018/2019. In the competition for the scholarship she defeated 70 candidates from various universities in Poland.

The title of the awarded dissertation is “Independence of the juveniles of Youth Educational Centers”. The work is created under the supervision of Prof. Barbara Kromolska.

The aim of the “Bridging Scholarships Program” is to encourage outstanding PhD students to develop and deepen their knowledge and contribute to the education and knowledge in Poland. The program is one of the largest non-governmental scholarship initiatives in Poland. Its partners are currently: the Polish-American Freedom Foundation, the National Bank of Poland, the Rural Development Foundation, the BGŻ BNP Paribas Foundation, and a consortium of nearly 90 local non-governmental organizations.
