Iwona Flis from the Doctoral School of Humanities and Social Sciences at the University of Gdańsk has won a prestigious scholarship from the Kościuszko Foundation. The subject of her doctoral thesis of the scholarship holder is the Polish Institute of Arts and Sciences of America.

The Kościuszko Foundation Poland has been operating since 2010. It supports intellectual, scientific and cultural exchange between Poland and the United States. It also organizes cultural events, co-organizes trips of scientists and artists for scholarships to the USA, American students to Poland and the Exchange to the US scholarship program.

Thanks to the support of the Foundation, Iwona Flis will conduct a five-month query in the United States, which will enable her to prepare a monograph on the history of the Polish Scientific Institute in America.
