“87 universities will receive a total of PLN 150 million for the development and renovation of student residences. These are funds that have been allocated in the form of an increase in the subsidy for 2023. The maximum grant for one university is PLN 4 million”, said the Ministry of Science and Higher Education.

“In agreement with the ministry’s leadership, but also using my powers, I have decided to provide universities with PLN 150 million for renovating dormitories and improving the social and living situation of students. These subsidies will benefit 87 universities in Poland which have dormitories, which have accommodation for students”, said Minister of Science and Higher Education Dariusz Wieczorek. 

“We have divided this up fairly, according to the number of places in the dormitories. This is a kind of symbol showing how the ministry will operate at the moment. The division is clear, transparent”, he added.

The amount was divided based on the proportion of places in student residences as at 31 December 2022.
