Modern technologies and innovations are not only intended to modernize European industry, but also agriculture. The program “Biostrateg”, run by the National Center for Research and Development, allocated PLN 500 million for this aim.
Deputy Minister of Agriculture Ryszard Zarudzki emphasized that it is the first and only such a financial instrument in research and development for agriculture and forestry.
Currently, 45 projects are implemented under the program. One of them is the project under the name “Strategy for preventing weed resistance to herbicides as an important factor in ensuring sustainable development of the agro-ecosystem” run by the Institute of Plant Protection of National Research Institute in Poznań. With more than PLN 8 million, scientists are examining ways of controlling weeds that occur in the cultivation of crops.
