Polish Academy of Sciences and the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine sign agreement on cooperation

President of the Polish Academy of Sciences (PAN), Prof. Jerzy Duszyński, and the president of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Prof. Anatoly Zagorodnij, signed a new protocol to the agreement on scientific cooperation in 2022-2024 in Kiev. Cooperation will include joint scientific expeditions, exchange of scientists and information.

In the years 2022-2024, up to 20 young scientists from Ukraine (up to 35 years of age) will take monthly scientific visits to organizations of the Polish Academy of Sciences. Thay are also assuming support for joint participation in European Union programs and grants and other international projects.

The Polish Academy of Sciences and the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine concluded the first cooperation agreement in 1997. The protocol signed in Kiev on August 11, 2021 is setting new directions for cooperation between both institutions.

During his visit to Kiev, the president of the Polish Academy of Sciences, Prof. Jerzy Duszyński met with the director of the Ukrainian Institute of Molecular Biology, Prof. Mikhail Tukacz, Prof. Igor Brovchenko from the Institute of Problems of Machines and Mathematical Systems and Oleksandr Merezko, chairman of the committee for foreign policy and interparliamentary cooperation of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
