Borderland, the inherent change, the experience of encountering otherness, as well as duration, adaptation and transformation are the leading topics of the 10th Conference of the Committee on Migration Research of the Polish Academy of Sciences, which will be held from 16 to September at the University of Gdańsk and at the Emigration Museum in Gdynia.
The conference program consists of 43 interdisciplinary research sessions (attended by over 170 speakers) and workshops dedicated to PhD students and students taking up migration-related issues in their work.
The current issues will include sessions on the EU immigration policy, migration during a pandemic, the situation of migrant children, but also the practices and language resources of migrants, the natural aspects of migration or migrants in the world of institutions, the role of the state in migration research, and the history of cities in terms of the borderland (urban centers as multicultural centers).
