As part of the Science for Policy project, the Polish Academy of Sciences (PAN) in cooperation with the Joint Research Centre (JRC) of the European Commission’s Directorate-General is organising a two-day workshop for Polish scientists, in particular young scientists as well as PhD students, and a one-day training course for central administration staff on 23-24 April 2024 at the Staszic Palace in Warsaw.
The aim of the training is to familiarise researchers with the policy-making process and discuss the importance of scientific input at all stages of the policy-making process. Modules include how to communicate uncertainty and guidance on how science can respond to questions from central government offices.
Science for Policy is an initiative of the Technical Support Facility funded by the Directorate General for Structural Reform Support (DG REFORM) and implemented by the JRC and the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD). The project is designed to promote reforms of public administration and research and innovation systems, with the aim of improving evidence-based policy making.
