Health Minister Prof. Łukasz Szumowski and Alex Azar, secretary of health and social care USA, signed a cooperation agreement in the field of biomedical sciences between both countries.

Minister Łukasz Szumowski stressed that thanks to the agreement, Polish biomedical sciences and Polish scientists will gain a great opportunity for development and access to the resources of knowledge, experience and scientific research available to American institutions.
The director of the National Academic Exchange Agency, Łukasz Wojdyga, who participated in the visit to the US, announced the launch of this year’s new program of scholarships and financing the PhD studies, research programs for about one hundred Polish young scientists in medicine and biomedical sciences. The American side is interested in cooperating and using Polish experiences in infectious diseases, especially tuberculosis.
