Graduates of the Faculty of Architecture of the Krakow University of Technology (WA PK) Eng. Aleksandra Wróbel, Eng. Kamil Owczarek and Eng. arch. Agnieszka Witaszek, a graduate of architecture at the Warsaw University of Technology, won the international competition “Kaira Looro Architecture Competition”.
The task of the competition participants was to design an object serving as a Crisis Management Center that could be built in Sub-Saharan Africa. Over 455 projects from all over the world have been submitted to the competition.
Polish architects proposed a “Folding Emergency Shelter”, providing immediate assistance to sub-Saharan African communities during natural disasters. The key features of the proposed facility are easy assembling and disassembling, as well as the ability to adapt to rapidly changing conditions.
