Polish engineering company Sener will deliver to Italy 13 devices called MGSE (Mechanical Ground Support Equipment) designed to support the assembly of satellites. The GroupThales Alenia Space Italy will use them to build a 2.3 ton Euclid probe for the European Space Agency.
It is the largest satellite assembly set in Poland. It was constructed with the participation of 18 Polish enterprises; they provided components for production, logistics and carried out endurance tests.
MGSE equipment is used for precise changing the position of the satellite during assembly processes, transport, including the transport into the rocket.
The Euclid probe will study so-called inflation or the expansion of space; its sensors will study the history of Universe 10 billion years ago.
