Thanks to the innovative solution of the Polish company Genomtec S.A., genetic tests that allow to detect dangerous infections can be performed with a portable device during a home visit or in an ambulance – informs Miron Tokarski, co-founder of the company.

The portable diagnostic system has been named Genomtec ID. It allows to identify a pathogen in a biological material using molecular biology techniques. The whole analysis is performed on a small chip, which in just 20 minutes detects the presence of DNA or RNA in any biological material.

The system can detect different types of infections: upper respiratory tract-, sexually transmitted- and generalized infections, such as MRSA or meningitis.
