Polish programmer co-authored the success of SpaceX

On 6 February 201, SpaceX launched the world’s most powerful – weighing nearly 1,500 tons – Falcon Heavy rocket. One of the software engineers who worked on the SpaceX control systems was Tomasz Czajka – a graduate of the Faculty of Mathematics, Computer Science and Mechanics at the University of Warsaw – informs the Polish Information Processing Society.

Already during his studies in Stalowa Wola, Tomasz Czajka achieved outstanding successes, winning silver and double gold medal in the International IT Competition.

During his studies – firstly at the University of Warsaw, and then at the American Purdue University – he won even more laurels in the most prestigious IT competitions. In 2003 he won ACM International Collegiate Programming Contest with his colleagues from the University of Warsaw, in a team led by Prof. Jan Madeya,. In 2003, 2004 and 2008 he was the best in the TopCoder Open competition, and in 2004 he and the team won the TopCoder Collegiate Challenge. From 2007, he worked as a software engineer in Google’s headquarters, from where he moved to SpaceX in 2014.
