The European Molecular Biology Organisation (EMBO) has announced the names of ten life science researchers who have been awarded EMBO Installation Grants. Among them are three scientists from Poland: Dr Ewelina Małecką-Grajek and Dr Aleksandra Kołodziejczyk from the International Institute of Molecular and Cell Biology in Warsaw and Dr Maciej Cieśla from the International Institute of Molecular Mechanisms and Machines of the Polish Academy of Sciences.
The researchers will each receive EUR 50,000 per year for three to five years, in addition to which they can also apply for additional funding of up to EUR 10,000 per year.
EMBO Installation Grants are intended to contribute to increasing the level of internationalisation at European universities and the mobility of academic staff.
“We are delighted that these exceptional researchers are supported by EMBO. We promote excellence in life sciences in all parts of Europe and beyond and look forward to the contributions of the new grantees. Their research will undoubtedly both strengthen the life sciences in their countries and enrich our wider scientific community”, said Fiona Watt, Director of EMBO.
